thomas cook refund

I have recently been on a holiday to tukey with 4 others and my son who is 3 which i booked all inclusive with thomas cook .
Thomas cook rep that we see when we arrived into antalyia turkey said hello gave us our names and pointed to a coach , that was the last time of seeing a rep untill the wecome meetingt the afternoon after .After the welcome meeting reps wasnt readily available we see another one just before went home , noone even met us at reception on departure from the hotel either . Reps should be there to tell you about somewhere before you are arriving at a hotel and when leaving surely ? well this is what ive always seen of First Choice .
Anyway the resort we went to in which we chose due to being all inclusive and had entertainment for both adults and mainly my son was definatly not as described .It was not the holiday i had been told about.
The entertainment Everynight was in russian and turkish for both adults and children, I booked this holiday due to there being entertainment as i mainly wanted that included more than anything else.I told the entertainment team on first night who just laughed that was english as we could not understand anything not caring and not understanding they still carried the entertainment on everynight in russian. Thomas cook should not have booked this resort for an english family especially when advertising they have evening entertainment and not telling you in need to watch entertainment for adults and children you need to speak russian .
My son was very upset as the year previously when we went on holiday to tukey with first choice he was at the entertainment everynight so thats what he was most looking forward to . The evenings was so boring , we was having to go out and spend money in the evenings just because we was all bored and had nothing to do .This was a con for our money and not the holiday we was told about .
The food was always cold , my son had chicken that was bleeding on the plate i showed the chef who didnt understand a word of what i was saying as he only spoke russian or turkish , and was just trying to shove another peice onto a new plate theat he gave me without me explaining how horrified i was that my three year old was given raw chicken and we certainly do not want anymore .
I told the rep when i finally saw her about entertainment and food and she never got back to us and never see her again as in the resort the reps are not available alotof the time as you hardly ever saw one which was really not helpful due to everyone who worked there and holiday makers knowing none or a very little english
The last holiday i had was with first choice to turkey and i never had one complaint the was brilliant, our son loved the entertainment we watched it everynight as the actually catered for english people. Booking with thomas cook i expected the same i was not told that in order to watch entertainment we need to be albe to speak russian as i would never have had booked it , we had hardly any spending money as the only way to enjoy the evenings was to go out of the resort and mainly eat out of the resort due to the food being raw a lot .
There was also 2 ala carte restaurants and one was free but you had to pay for drinks and the other one was 10 euros each to eat in .
The whole holiday was a joke my son is so upset . i was just wandering if someone could help me write a letter or maybe some points i can say in the letter as i do really want a full refund tyo have the holiday we all wanted and that we actually asked for .

    You really won't want to hear what I have to say I'm afraid as it is harsh but (I feel) fair. Others will probably have a completely different opinion but for what it's worth, here's mine:

    What is the same of the accommodation and you did you research reviews before you booked or travelled?

    If you wanted entertainment guaranteed to be in English maybe you should holiday in the UK? I would have thought that general fun hotel entertainment is pretty much the same and therefore understandable despite the language barrier!

    A la carte restaurants being outside of the terms of AI is not uncommon at all, some resorts will simply have a large buffet type restaurant for AI use with other options being chargeable.

    As regards the food it is not uncommon for the food in cheap AIs to be fairly dreadful, often you really do get what you pay for! If the food was as bad as you say then I'm assuming the buffet restaurant was fairly empty most nights?

    Did you try the a la carte restaurants, was the food better in there? If not, why not?

    If the situation really was that intolerable you should have demanded long and loud to speak to the rep until they appeared. I'm pretty sure they leave you a number in case of emergencies that you could have contacted them on repeatedly if necessary if only to get your complaints heard. Short of transferring you to other accomodation I'm not sure what they could have done anyway.

    A full refund? Not a hope in hell, sorry!

    At the best you may get an offer in money or vouchers as a gesture of goodwill but I wouldn't hold my breath!

    Did you look on trip advisor etc before booking?

    Research before you go, not just book and hope

    Having said that, RAW chicken is unacceptable and you should have a response from the rep, but was it really raw, if so I would have thought many people would have been very ill

    Your son is 3 years old and STILL upset? Sorry but I don't know many 3 year olds that get so upset over entertainment not being in English and the family having to spend more money than planned.

    I'm impressed with a 3 year old who is able to remember a holiday from the previous year. However, sarcastic as that may sound, I do sympathise with the family as a holiday that is booked in england as having entertainment should not necessitate a crash course in russian. if it had been solely in turkish you could think well we are in turkey. Wonder if a game of russian roulette was part of the adult entertainment with the raw chicken being instead of the bullet

    I feel your pain.

    I was in Veitnam and went to watch the world famous water puppet show in Hanoi.

    I was furious when I learned the show was in Vietnamese.

    What a rip off.

    Whats wrong with that? Would you prefer they hang around trying to sell you over priced trips??

    Next time dont stay somewhere AI. Pick self catering or B&B and eat where you like.

    And read the reviews before you go.

    Raw chicken is not acceptable but theres no way of proving that now so I wouldnt waste any more time.

    The reps board would have had the local office telephone number on it and as you mention you went to the welcome meeting you would have been given the welcome pack on arrival with the time for this meeting in it and also an emergency card with the office number on it. Did you call them?
    No rep is going to leave straight after a welcome meeting as that is when they book people on trips for which they get commission for. Do you mean you just didn't want to wait?
    Which hotel was it?
    I also don't mean to sound harsh but you have to complain when you are there and make sure it is recorded otherwise you just don't stand much chance when you get back :(
