Hi,
I sold an item of clothing which I sent to the lady on 5 March, I got proof of postage. She has emailed me saying she hasn't received it.
I went to the post office and they have given me an A4 size form to fill out.
Would you go to the trouble of filling out the form and waiting or should I refund her. I would have to refund her about £5.00.:o

If you want to do something, then the only thing holding you back is yourself, so get on and do it!:rotfl:

I'd refund her straight away and then fill out the form if you want to claim.

I agree with cazmanian_minx. Best to refund the buyer now and then claim from the Royal Mail yourself.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

it has to be 15 days before it is classed by royal mail has lost. I would wait till that time has passed then refund her. You can only claim up to £32 though0

Personally I wouldn't refund her until you've got an idea what happened with Royal Mail because the buyer could well be lying. Just say you have to wait for royal mail, keep things pleasant and it'll probably be fine. Just MO0

I agree, wait 21 days before refunding.0

It's always best to refund the buyer first and then chase it up with the Royal Mail. It isn't fair to make the buyer wait weeks without having received the item or a refund.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

The trouble with this is that the RM sample their lost/damage claims for verification - and the sampling criteria doesn't seem to be on the value of the item. If they send out a 'did you receive this item the sender has placed a claim form' to the the buyer and the buyer doesn't return it, you will not receive compensation. They usually just issue a cheque out of 'goodwill' but they have tightened the claim verification process precisely because of Ebay scam artists placing false claims.
Good luck whatever you decide.I do hope you're telling the truth?0 -

I agree with the above, I would be polite to the buyer and ask them to wait a reasonable time for delivery. I usually ask them if they could wait 15 days from postage but if they are unhappy with this I would refund sooner.0 -
A buyer who hasn't received their item or a refund within say 2 weeks is going to start making a fuss.
If the buyer paid via PayPal then they could always start a dispute. This would result in the seller having to refund before receiving a refund from the Royal Mail anyway.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--
