Help with PCN

Hi all,

I received a PCN Notice on 12 March 2012.

I lodged an appeal via email on 13 March 2012 (following the councils instructions).

This was acknowledged the same day and stated that the amount due would be frozen until they had sent a response.

I had heard nothing until I received a 'Notice to Owner' yesterday advising that the full £70 was due.

I contacted the council and they advised that an email response was sent on 19 April rejecting my appeal. However, when I checked the email address they used it was incorrect. Someone had made an error and sent it to a different address therefore it was never received.

They advised that they would update the file and I could pay the original £35 but just thought I would seek some advice in case it can be waived due to their error in responding?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Andy

They are under no obligation to respond to an initial appeal of a PCN (known as the informal appeal) so I wouldn't think you could use this to get the ticket overturned.

If you appeal to the NtO then they ARE obliged to respond, this would be the 'formal appeal'.

It might be worth visiting the Council Tickets section of the PePiPoo website and posting up your ticket to see if they can help with additional advice on how strong your appeal is, and if they can find any additional points.

The first informal appeal is rejected anyway.
You would have to make a formal appeal to the NTO which is usually rejected then one to the parking adjudications.
We would need some details to help you with the appeal.
    Date of ticket
    time of ticket
    offence code
    time observed
    time issued
    location from pcn
and a google map link or any photos you have of exactly where it was issued.

If you could host up the PCN and remove your name and post a link or a link without http: that would be better.
    And any pics you have.
