Cardiff help please :D

Not sure how far the walk from the train station is?

Or if there's a short cut?

Hi, I've never walked this but I would say about 10 - 15 mins, depends on your walking speed and which part of the hospital your wanting and whether you mind walking across muddy grass!

right, I'll do my best when you come out of the station both railways(upper and lower) should be behind you (bet you knew that bit). Walk up the road to the T junction and turn left, you will also need to cross to the other side....

*warning I cann't remember road names, but here goes

    The longest way
...is to continue walking down the road to the traffic lights and enter the hospital the same way the cars would, (this will take longer than 10 mins!)

    slightly shorter
....walk along the road and take the next right so that you are walking towards Heath Park and then turn left and follow the road** all the way down and you'll enter the Hospital grounds and little further on than the longest route

    the muddy route
as above until you get to ** as you are walking down you will pass 2 roads into the park, the first will be to the miniture railway, carry on until you get to the next one and turn into it, the community centre will be on your right (I think thats what it is) and large car park next to the sports hall will be infront of you and on your rt., there are also some council buildings and I believe the Horticultural soc gardens here along here, but on the left). opp the comm.centre there is a grassed area with some well worn muddy paths this will lead you into the hospital near the student residences.

This is all from memory and I'm sure someone else may be able to give better advise. Must admit that I ususally end up parking near the sports hall and getting muddy if I have plenty of time.

    good luck

i seem to remember that you can see the trains thundering part from within certain parts of UHW (outpatients, i *think* ) so i doubt its all that far away.

would it be too sensible of me to suggest that you contact the UHW and ask for directions? i know that when i get outpatients letters, they always send me directions/ how to get here info, even though i dont live any further away than you do :p:D

failing that, i cant remember which number, but one of the trains runs from cardiff bus station straight into the heath hospital grounds

Yell.com has a directions thing, and you can specify that you want to walk the route...it might give times and might help you put road-names on Suets instructions
