WOW thank yo all so very much for your help
like i said im happy to pay it as long as i know where its come and that im at fault for it but how would i go about finding out where its come from?
I mean all the people i speak to say its from GE capital group which means nothing to me i wanna know where it all started they say it could be a store card if so what store and what did i buy so how do i find out this info?0 -
It's not credible that the Lewis group applied for a CCJ without knowing what the debt was originally for and who it was with, so someone there is stringing you along by telling you they don't have details.
You may also be able to get the Particulars Of Claim from the court, as if filled out properly by the creditor, they should contain details of the original debt.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

david39- When i say they have my number i ment that every company that i owe money to will have my contact number and my address because i wont to get rid of these debts and starting getting better credit for myself
And as of the people moving in ther after us, as it was rented then you could be right thats why i want to find out where its from before i start paying for it
If i do find out where its come from and if it is my fault then i will put my hand up and say sorry and pay it off
Also how bad will it look to future lenders for me?
The first step is to find out from the court the exact details of the judgement and then take up the matter with GE, indicating that you intend to apply to have the judgement set aside and asking for details of the debt. Do this all in writing, keep copies and as it unfolds keep this thread updated.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. You made what looked like a Freudian slip, when you said that you told them your change of address and that they had your mobile number. So it really does look to me like you do know about this debt. Which is where you are going to come unstuck if you take this matter forward. So when you talk about things like this, watch yourself and don't use terms like 'they' and 'them'. Be specific and say 'I told everyone I owed money too of my change of address'.

Again thanks for letting me know where i am going wrong as im not sure on how to go about these things im the type of person who will just accept is but im now trying to dig a bit deeper into eveything.
Yes in a way you are right because when i rang the lewis group they had told me that i had made 2 payments before back in 2009 the only thing is that if i made 2 payments to them why would i stop payments altogether if i couldnt afford it at the time i would have let them know and if i would have missed a payment i would still make the next one and i would deffo not stop payments altogether.
The only thing i can think of at this stage is a tv i brought on finance around that time which got forwarded to a debt agency who got in contact with me and i know for a fact that i paid of the whole debt.
Again the lady at the courts just gave me a number for the llowel group who put me through to the lewis group who then told me that it wa from a company called ge capital.
Now what do they deal in is what i would like to know0 -
GE Capital do all sorts of "in store" finance for various companies.
So could be just about anything originally.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

UPDATE:
I just made a few more phone calls and i got put through to a company called scott call who are now dealing with me.
They said that it was from a store called edge now i have never heard of a store called edge and have never been in one.
Once i told the wife this it rang a bell for her she said it could be toys r us which is the only store where we have taken out a store card but that was all in her name. I told scott call this who were really helpful and said that they will put my account on hold and investigate to find out more info on this like what was brought, when and where etc once they have found out more info they will get in contact with me.
But they had all my contact numbers including my landline number in my new address so again if they went to the trouble to get this then why not ring me???????0 -
hi ya all again
i was wandering if this comapny called scott call are now dealing with me then why did the first company who were dealing with put in a CCJ against me but then passed me of to another company who then passed me to another comapny who then passed me to another company etc
why did they do this?
and can they do this?
i thought that if a company put in a CCJ against you then they had to follow it up
help on this one please0
