Birds in the Wall

We have a problem with birds getting trapped in the wall in the corner of our living room.

We have heard a few of them now and its really distressing as they chirp and chirp until they eventually go quiet :(

I think the birds have made a nest under our roof tiles and the babies are maybe falling down a gap. We can hear them right behind the wall but there is no way we can get them out.

What should I do? Is there someone I could call who can fill in the gap under the roof tiles and stop them getting in there in the first place?

Thanks

You may have to wait until any that survive have fledged . Is it a 2 storied building. I was once a roofers mate . the job is simple but a lot of leg work and therefore expensive if you get a roofer.

Its unlikely that the chicks have actually fallen out of the nest into the cavity, what you are hearing will be them chirping for food.

As has been said best to leave alone until all have fledged then see about blocking access for next year.
Set yourself up in the garden away from the nest and watch for the parent birds going in, that way you can mark the exact spot and the work will be easier to do.

Yeah, its a two story house and the birds are falling all the way down to the ground floor.

I have seen the birds fly under one of the roof tiles, could the tile they fly under not just be filled in with something??

You will be hearing the birds on the ground floor but they will still be up at roof level and you will only be hearing the sound through the cavity wall.

Yes you can block the access hole when you find it and the birds will be put off by any blockage that is solid enough.

We used to get birds fall down our chimney and there was nothing we could do. Had to sit listening to them crying until they died. I know how you feel, it's horrible. We put some net over it eventually. You shoud be able to block it up, I'd imagine.
