Real Radio talking about PPCs.

Did anyone catch the Real Radio breakfast show the other morning, where one of the presenters was talking about the "parking ticket" she had received at a restaurant?

She was getting in a right flap, talking about going to court and, at one point, even panicking about going to prison. :rotfl:

Just shows how people are conditioned into being afraid of people with (imaginary) "authority".

Is g this a bbc local? Regardless have you thought about getting in touch and helping her by telling net the truth, mybe she could then spread the information about these ppcs and do a bit of public service broadcasting.
    From the Plain Language Commission:

  • I didn't need to get in touch (was busy at work anyway) as loads of people rang, emailed and texted, telling her not to pay, and to ignore the "ticket" and subsequent letters.

Which Real Radio was it ? We have one in Wales but its woody and jagger on the breakfast show.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

  • It was Real Radio North West.

The presenters are Sam and Lorna.

Have to say, they don't look like I expected them to, based on how they sound.
  • I've never looked into it, but do these radio stations make money off the calls and texts?

The reason I ask is they normally spout some rubbish or controversial stuff then ask the listeners for their opinions.

Just googled it, yep, 25p then your normal network rate.

Do we think she was REALLY worried? Or just briefed on earning money for her employer.

    I don't think it matters.

Whatever the motive, what it has done is inform a hell of a lot of people, about their rights in regard to private "parking Tickets" and, IMHO, that can only be a good thing.

It might have been designed as a money making scheme by the management but it also has the benefit of spreading the word that the parking tickets can be used as bog paper.
