Credit Card Limits.

Options
I've been having a look at most of the cards on offer at the moment, and virtually all state a £1200 limit.

Is this the actual case? Is that what most of the companies give once you are accepted??

In a word...no. This is just part of the example card issuers give along with a representative APR. It does not mean you will get this credit limit or APR necessarily. These will be dependent on the issuers assessment of you.

Thanks for that Lawstudent, though I think I'll have problems on the application forms due to the fact that a/ I am no longer a home owner, b/ My personal living arrangements are not on any of their drop-down lists, and c/ my partner owns the property outright after having it left to her by her dad....

Being a homeowner isn't the end of the world when it comes to being accepted for a credit card to be honest. Other things like income, length of time in current property and total debt are more important. When you say "personal living arrangements" do you mean the options that say things like living with parents, homeowner, renting etc. If so I would give them a call and apply on the phone explaining what you have written here. That way they can select whatever they think is appropriate and you have been honest with them.

Only been in our current place since November last year, on electoral register.
All bills are up to date, and always pay well over the minimum for my current cc's.
Income, just over 50k p/a, current debst around 13k in total.
And yes, that's what I meant by the ''homeowner, living with parents etc'' :)

Half tempted to tell them I am a homeowner to save the hassle, but worry that it could cause problems later on...

Be honest, as if your caught hunter / cifas maybe raised
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
