02746 numbers

I have a phone number for the Home Optician service, where they visit disabled people at home for sight tests. It starts 02746 which does not appear to be a geographical number.

I have looked online for info but not come up with anything conclusive. Wondered if anybody here can help?

    Is it by any any chance 02476 ( Coventry ) not 02746.

    no it is definitely 02746 but I have now got an 0845 number for them

    The 027 range is not in use yet. You have been given (they have printed?) an incorrect number.
    Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

    Good chance its supposed to be 02476 ( Coventry ) and its been transposed. They wouldnt be the first to do it with that exchange code heres just a few examples.
