go for the flybe, it gives flight points although hard to redeem. However you can have the plus addon for £1 a month that gives 1% cashback
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Are you kidding? OH has just taken out this card and on further reading it's rubbish. £4,000 spend gets you one return economy flight within the UK...

It might be worth looking at an Aqua Cashback card for the first £3,300 annual spend :o
    Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

    Thanks guys,

I will keep my Tesco Credit Card and its a toss up between Amex Platinum Cash back for £25 or, dont kill me, the BA Amex Card for £150 annually.
Yes its crazy to pay that amount but calculating the amount we spend, it will easily give me, at a bare min, 2 return tickets across Europe plus a yearly companion ticket. As we travel quite a bit, I may just go for it as it makes a whole lot of sense right now

Also the companion fare may only be available on full price tickets, ie the amount you pay for your ticket to get the free one is around the price of two cheapest tickets.
  • discussion was really helpful.

No, the companion voucher on the BA Amex is for Avios redemptions so is very good if you use it correctly.

Is the natwest 0% on purchases for 18months card any use to you?

I believe you get some sort of points system when you get accepted and when you spend on it and this can be used for vouchers, deals etc (not fully checked it out yet)

However don't expect an absolutely huge credit limit even on a fairly good salary.

I very recently got one of these for a specific purchase (having not got any other outstanding debts apart from mortgage and no other credit cards) and got a £6.7k limit and I am on a £45k salary. This was fine for what I needed but you may be looking for a tad more?

    Hope this helps :)

The Natwest Yourpoints scheme is worth 0.5% back in Amazon, M&S, Next, Arcadia, Boots, Currys or Sainsbury's vouchers, redeemable in multiples of £10, among other things.

You make a good point, since interest rates are at about 3%, slow stoozing is something the OP might wish to consider:

Lots of good advice on here and thank you all for this. Further to my previous update, I will be looking at the following and keeping the stoozing option in mind too :)

    1. Tesco Clubcard, have it now with a £6k limit so retain it
    2. Amex - either the free BA card or go for the £150 BA card as it will definitely boost my Avios points. We make atleast one return trip to Asia and Europe per year. If we spend £500 on top on the card, we gain a lot
    3. Amazon's card - I am an online shopping freak and gawd knows how much I have spent on Amazon over the past 5 years. They seem to have a decent gift card option using their card so may go for it

Likely to go for the one that gives me the most spending limit. I dont want a card with just £1k as it wont be of much use for those bigger purchases. Thanks again for all your advice, it has helped to narrow things down a lot
