my rights regarding poor dental treatment

I appreciate a veneer is never as strong as the original tooth. The veneer i had previously sat on the front surfaceof the tooth, and was done because the surface was somewhat ridged; not damage as such. The chip was slight, at a corner, and had not damaged the tooth in any way. The pain i am in now is not a result of poor root canal treatment as i have been assessed by an endontologist who confirmed it is just a long recovery time.
The code of conduct for dentists says they must explain the treatment, and risks, and patients must give consent. He told me nothing, just went ahead and did it. I did not want this style of veneer, and there is no going back now. It is unfortunate that is seems a dentist can decide themselves, without consultation, what treatment to carry out and if it goes wrong its just tough luck.0 -
If the remedial work was the merely put you back in the position your teeth was in BEFORE the denist worked on it then yes he should pay. If it has cost you £400 to complete the work the dentist should have then you are not at a loss0
