I`ve just received a fine from VCS for 'Parking/Waiting on a roadway where stopping is prohibited'
I had taken my van up a dead end road and turned round. I pulled over for no more than two minutes to program my sat nav to get me to Holme on Spalding Moor as I thought this was the safer option than doing it while on the move!
I`ve read through various threads on the forum and mainly getting information on people being hounded after being in Car Parks.
I`m also getting the impression that any letter like this should be ignored but I`m just a wee bit concerned that yellow lines can be seen beyond where I was stopped which show on the ANPR photo they have sent me.
Many thanks for any advice

There was a similar question about Doncaster Airport over on CAG:-
http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?353802-Parking-Charge-Notice-from-VCS-Ltd(4-Viewing)-nbsp
This seems to be very relevant:-
I have had a very nice letter from the director of the airport today which confirms that the roads are privately owned but not by the airport. He provided the name of the landowner should I wish to contact them.
So it's private land and can be ignored. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

I`m slightly concerned at receiving a 'Notice of Appointment as Debt Collectors' today from Newlyn Debt Collection Ltd concerning this incident from almost 2 years ago. Do you think I should still keep ignoring.0 -
Yes as this is a pre pofa 2012 ticket, and I presume you've ignored everything up to now, they don't know who the driver was, and there is no keeper liability. Come back if you get a letter before claim or a claim. It's highly unlikely to happen as this is just a way to get mugs to cough up.When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Thanks Stroma.
Everything been ignored so far. The last of 3 letters from VCS arrived probably about a year ago.
I`ll update if anything else comes of it.0 -
Same as here and on lots of threads recently, search this forum for 'Newlyn' as a keyword and you will find several like this:

The Newlyn computer has obviously just issued a batch of 'scraping barrel' follow up threatograms which no doubt makes some victims worry and pay up. You are not a victim and on MSE even a small claim is rare and defendable with a high win rate for our posters. I think VCS just lost one last week didn't they, others might recall it, 3 tickets being chased and the defendant was up for the fight! Apart from that I can't recall one before that except Ibbotson which they also lost (shown as a link in the NEWBIES thread, post #6 small claims cases won, well worth reading!).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
