Dear Forum Members
Has anyone heard of a UK credit card that pays you interest if your credit card happens to have a credit balance?
For clarity: if for e.g. the credit limit on my card is only £500 and I want to put an extra £500 on top as spending money because I am going on holiday abroad (but I don't end up spending it all), are there any credit cards that would pay me interest on a credit balance?

No, absolutely not0 -
Not only will they not pay you interest - it is strictly against the T&Cs of lots of credit cards to have a credit balance.
If you intentionally pre-load it before your holiday you might find the card cancelled and the money returned to you - which could leave you rather stuck on holiday.
If you want to pre-load a card then perhaps a prepaid credit card for your holiday would be a better option.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
The egg blue card (which became egg money) did exactly that (at quite a good rate too), but stopped doing so a few years ago.
It was an ideal "mule" card to use if you had a balance transfer offer.
It's now no more. All the accounts were transferred to Barclaycard last year.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
