  • No, they are saying that it is sometimes difficult to prove that you don't watch TV.

But if you take reasonable steps - writing a letter for example - you're obviously in a better situation to prove that you don't.

If you are that bothered, buy a licence. If you object to buying a licence cos you don't watch tv, then don't. That simple really.

They just go on postcodes and addresses.

The detector van stuff is nonsense as how is it possible in flats to tell who is watching a tv?

What I found amusing is one time I moved into an empty property and arrived to find TV licensing letters already there addressed to the Occupier. So the previous occupants must have changed the address on their license.

When I legally unpacked and installed my TV and brought a license 4 weeks later I still got threatening letters for 6 weeks afterwards saying they were going to come round.

They never did come round so I was unable to ask them why where they sending letters to the occupier when the property was empty. (If they had come round before I would have shown them the tv in the packing box.)
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)
