  • Not sure if Amara will be back as she's currently on maternity leave (;)) but I'll create a continuation of the thread for the next part if not.

Looking at my remaining amount, I'll need it!

Thank-you..:T:T Am already on the look-out for the new thread lol:rotfl:

Now, just wondering which of my debts I should choose lol.. The largest amount with huge interest payment (which I am very unlikely to pay off in 100 days) or one of the smaller amounts which I am more likely to achieve but has a much smaller interest charge attached to it.. Decisions decisions lol:rotfl:

    Hi Everyone,

For any of you who may have read my posts - you'll know my challenge this time was to pay off an ex, an old debt of 10 years ago. Now I have the money I was deliberating a little and you all advised - pay him and get it done with.

Today I drove to his and tracked him (and current partner!) down in a pub. It all felt a little odd and he was surprised to see me. I asked if I could have 5 minutes and we all sat down. I'd written a kind of contract out explaining stuff - why it'd had taken so long and that I'd felt bad all this time. I asked if he would sign the sheet - stating that this released me from his debt financially, emotionally and spiritually (i believe in karma). I paid over the amount I owed him as a good will gesture to help towards interest it would have accumulated and also any inconvenience it may have caused. He signed it and I left...

I was shaking when I left - but I have to say it felt so good to do something positive. Not only did it surprise them both - it hopefully made their day a little brighter - they could go on holiday, buy something nice - who knows. It also felt great to have let all that guilt go. Am still feeling warm inside from it all.

Now that this debt is gone - all the rest are to credit cards and loans, and I can really focus in now on clearing them. This success has driven me on even more. Thank you so much everyone for your advice and support.

Well done everyone for your payments and sucesses!

I temporarily fell off the overpayment wagon and have only managed to clear £582 of the £1200 I pledged to clear.

Better than nothing I suppose but looking forward to joining in with Chapter 10 shortly and taking part with a lot more heart than I've done in chapter 9!
