Should I quit my job?

I'm an agency worker doing some temp work for a large business. I get paid £7 per hour. The work is very boring - its pretty much data entry. I started doing temping to save up money for what I really want to do and i've met my target for how much I need to save but I won't be able to do what I really want to do until October. So should I leave the boring job and enjoy the summer or stick at it eventhough its so boring and my commute is nearly two hours per day? What would you do? A part of me thinks money is money and jobs are scare, another part thinks why not enjoy the summer?

  • What will you live off over the summer? Is your plan for October definitely going to happen?

    Enjoy what summer? :)

If you quit you won't be able to claim benefits, so your precious money will start disappearing. I'd stick with it and stock pile a bit more if you can. Whatever you are going to do in October, there will never be quite enough money. There never is. A bit more won't go amiss.

If you have the funds to quit your job for the summer then go ahead.

If not, would you expect the taxpayer to fund your fun?

Personally, I'd stay stick with the job (or find another?) if you can't afford to not work because you have no idea if your thing in October will happen or not and quite frankly, I think it's wrong to rely on the state when you don't need to!

I've paid into the system and would like my money back. The welfare state is in no place to preach morals.

I don't have bills to pay and live with parents. Yes, it will.

Can you temp three days a week? Then you could have best of both worlds and possibly free up an opportunity for someone else to work a few more hours.

Nb would you spend more if you have more free time?
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

You won't be able to claim if you quit your job for no reason....well your reason is the job is boring is not good enough.

    If you think so.

That would be a nice option but its not possible. I spend very little. I'm a natural saver.

What if I just say the job came to its natural end?

You are not going to leave the house all summer?
