    It wouldn't be so bad if the services provided a decent means to pay (for example a ticket machine) instead of making people call a stupid automatic telephone line on a 0845 number.

    I entirely agree. Can't speak for them all. but moto and roadchef you can pay inside. I'm sure Hardworker2010 can supply info on others.

    Pay on-line, great idea at 2am in the morning and your phone is basic and won't display the payment page.

    Edited that out then, we'll just concentrate on paying inside, if you can mange that concept. Speaking to a human, passing the money over, taking the ticket. Not a big issue.

    The simple fact that motorway service areas should provide unlimited free parking like they do in other countries.
