UK CPS Ticket

:mad:I have a disabled badge and parked outside boots in a retail park and forgot to display my badge, I was there to collect an emergency perscription and was in and out in 20 mins top, when i came out UK CPS had place a parking fine on my car. Are they part of the British parking association, and does that matter. As far as i'm concerned I didn't enter into any contract whether I parked there or not, its a retail park which has free parking and this companies signs for parking fines has only appeared in the carpark recently. Should I just ignore them?

Ignore it. Blue badges have no standing on private property so it's irrelevant. You haven't been given a fine. It's an unenforceable invoice
  • UK CPS can't 'fine' you. All they can do is try and con you out of some money.

Ignore them. They may buy the registered keeper's name and address from the DVLA and write to that address. Again ignore everything they send.

They are annoying but not worth giving a second thought.

The Blue Badge Scheme does not apply to disabled bays on private land. The only requirement is that the person who parks there is actually disabled as per the Equality Act (although technically the bays are unenforceable anyway).

Therefore as long as the person who parked there was disabled, there is no case. Whether the badge is displayed or not is irrelevant.

You could write to Boots and point this out, or you could simply ignore all the ridiculous threat-o-gram letters you will receive. The end result will be the same. There will be no court case, and you will not end up paying them anything.

Yep this is just a scam that breaches disability law. UKCPS = scammers. Ignore UKCPS completely and do not write to them.

But if you find an address for the Retail Park Management or if they have an office on site I would deliver a letter with a photocopy of your disbled badge saying that you were entitled to park there under the Equality Act 2010, here's the proof, and that any further contact from them or their agent except to confirm the ticket is cancelled, will be viewed as harassment which you may decide to pursue for damages in Court. Tell them to tell their car park agent to desist immediately or you are minded to sue them both.

That way, you have told the people who matter (the car park occupier with rights to offer parking), that you are disabled. That covers you completely and if you do get a lot of rubbish letters you can then sue for harassment for about £50 up front which you can also claim back in Court when you take them there.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
