Can anyone set up as a letting agent- or are the3re any legal prerequisits? Kind regards Sarh.

For my familys sake I no longer dream, I will plan and I will try and if I fail I will try and try again.

    Yes anyone can start a letting agency, that's why they are all as bad as they are.

    It's a free market which is why it attracts so many ex doule glazing salesmen and scrap dealers.
    Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.

    Why not try and get a lettings job in an established agency?

    I'd seriously consider whether you want to leave the NHS.

    A similar response from me: even if anyone CAN set up as a lettings agent, the question for you is surely "how easy is it to make money as a lettings agent?" To which I'd say probably harder than you think ... given that there is plenty of competition out there, you have to attract landlords, and tenants. And then give a good service to both.
