Been looking at an extended car warrantly. Does anyone know anything about warrantydirect.co.uk?

Are they any good, or just a waste of money?

Any discounts available?

Thanks

I have their gold cover - not claimed so far...
but read documents carefully, first 90 days any wear & tear faults are not covered. All claims have £25 excess.
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

Just got a better deal offered by phone than the online quote in case anyone else is looking for a warranty. Also, the 90 day excusion doesn't apply becuase the car is still under warranty. (Very useful point though, thanks again.)

Very helpful customer service. I've taken up policy on the basis of the 14 day cooling off period.

I'd still be interested in views/ experience but for £220 it looked worhtwhile.

if your car is still under warranty why are you looking to buy an extended one?

Also the price they quoted will increase the following year by around £50 as they offer a discount for first time customers.

had a policy for 2 years with them but never claimed, its a necessary expense really

Manufacturers warranty runs out next week. Salesman did suggest a monthly premium to prevent future increases, but this worked out about £80 dearer!

For £220 as long as the policy is OK I think the peace of mind is worthwhile.
    Thanks for your help.

Just out of time to warn you off this company by the look of it.

I have legal proceedings against this company going on right now with the case to be heard in June.

Between them and one of their approved garages they have tried to stitch me up with a repair but fortunately I have the evidence that indicates one, or even both, have lied in my circumstance.

Through many different forums I have found out this company are not as good as they appear!

I have seen Warranty Direct mentioned in What Car a few times, I get the impression they are a reputable company who offer a good product at a competitive price. I would certainly buy from them if I ever had a car out of the manufacturers warranty period.

Several years ago I bought a three year old Saab 9000 Turbo, just out of manufactures warranty, so took out a three year policy with Warranty Direct. After about two years I had a major engine failure when the power steering pump bearings collapsed while on the M5, the drivebelt came off, the engine overheated and by the time I came to stop all sorts of engine damage had been done.

The car was recovered to my local main Saab dealer, and the damage came to well over £1000, the Saab dealer dealt direct with Warranty Direct and they paid the full amount without any quibbles, so I would certainly recommend them and would use them again if I ever bought another second hand car.
