We've got several old apple trees in our garden and have no idea of the varieties. We've been here for about 5 years so know what they are like but I would like to know what the varieties are. Any ideas how I can find out please?

In the autumn there are lots of Apple Days. Most have an apple expert resident to identify varieties.

They need three fruits and a sample of foliage.
Some will limit ID to three varieties.

You can also have a look at http://www.fruitid.com/ which covers varieities common in the south east.
