direct.gov student loan calculator - HELP!

Hi,
Just a quick question about the direct.gov student loan calculator. I am looking at going to Uni in 2013/2014. I will be 22 at the time of starting. I have already studied one year of a degree but left, and I have cleared with SFE that I am still entitled to a loan for the full degree.
However I am concerned about the maintenance loan. I thought I would be entitled to £3575 (which wouldn't even cover the accomodation for my chosen uni) as my household income is £54000. But I was playing around with the calculator on the direct.gov site and put in my household income and it said I could get £4488! I just wanted to know if anyone knows why this is or if it is a mistake?

It probably isn't a mistake. While entitlement to a grant stops at a lower household income, the amount of loan you receive is also income assessed and you need to earn over around £65k before loan is at minimum levels.Sealed Pot Challenge #239
