Ebay your car and turn up with a tesco bag with £8.5 K.

if you were a golfer you would have two carriers in case you got a hole in one

Dear goodness - looks like I opened a can of worms!

Went to see the car again today with another person who would know a lot more about cars than me.

Will ring tomorrow to arrange a test drive - and no I wouldn't buy a car without taking it out on one first. It is more for peace of mind than anything but once I did have a car that broke down a mile down the road during a test drive. I do it mainly to see if I actually like driving it or not.

I am trying to not look to eager throughout the whole process.

Just out of interest, I take it most, if not all, dealers use the glass's guide to price cars (they showed me this when giving me a price for my trade-in). Would it be a good idea to get a quote off the Glass website for the exact same car and mileage and print this out to use as a bargaining tool - or am I wasting my time?

I'd say better off getting cars that are exact same spec and miles or better and using those.

Of course the dealer could just tell you to go buy them instead so you need to meet somewhere between what they want and what the others are up for ideally.

    5t.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

I recently got 2k off a car with a sticker price of 12k for the wife, I had haggled him down 1k then I spotted the car was wearing Linglong chinese ditch finders, he wouldn't replace the tyres so I got another 1k off and managed to get the tyres changes for £600.

Linglongs on a sports car :mad:
