finding a holiday for a large family in Greece.couple of questions Any tips?

Since my partner and i got together 5 years ago and our two families became one we haven't had a holiday due to the amount of us in our family :P

We really could do with getting away, times have been hard and we deserve a treat. Problem is finding somewhere that can take us all. If we were rich it wouldn't be a problem..but we aren't :P

I want to take them all to a Greek island and i have spent hours searching websites to find something suitable but on many of the sites it is not clear how many can sleep in each room until you click through and do a whole heap of adding info.

Does anyone know of any specialist websites or even hints and tips to try and make a holiday happen for a large family?

I have been looking on owners direct and a villa would be too much money. So it would have to be hotel or apartments.

Also does anyone know if i found two family rooms (there are 8 of us) is there a way we can go about having them next to one another?
We would have to split us between the rooms which would be easy (2x adults, 15,12,11,10,9,6)

Does anyone know of any hotels on say Rhodes/Corfu that do have large accommodation? (I have found cheap flights to these two so unless i find a package deal to somewhere else i would go to one of these islands)

I am just after any little gems of advice please :)
Thanks

Kate

When do you want to go? presume from the kids ages its during the peak school holidays? The price hikes tend to run to calendar months in my experience (august 1-31), we are lucky around here as with the odd teacher day our schools often don't go back until late in the 1st week of September and running even part of the stay into September can save a fortune. Your local authority websites will usually have the school term calendars on if you don't already know. Are you looking for 1 week or 2?

I would not totally give up on Villas as they often make more sense with larger groups than small. try http://www.villaplus.com a very good company and easy to juggle the search, gives prices for Villas up front.

A travel agent called Agni travel are helpful, can arrange various accommodation (villas, apartments, hotels) and contacting them they may be able to help I am sure. Basically they have offices out there so know the locations well

I have no idea what prices would be like, and it isn't on one of the islands you have mentioned, but I have recently booked a holiday at the Mavrikos hotel/apartments in Tsilivi, Zante. I remember it specifically says 'perfect for large families' in the description.

We booked through Cosmos and got a really good price, might be worth giving them a call and asking what they could do for you.

Tsilivi is wonderful. Gorgeous beach.....had a wonderful Honeymoon there..but that was to my ex husband. So can't go back :(

I shall have a look at the sites suggested. I am looking for 10 days-2 weeks.
Swinging towards Rhodes at the mo :)

Oh and to myright. We will be taking 6 children with us. Kavos was crossed off the list the moment i looked into resorts on the island :P

    Thanks again

That's a shame! I would really recommend Cosmos for Greece though. I am really tight now when it comes to holidays, and spent weeks researching best prices, but no other company could get close to them!

    Hope you get something sorted.
