I don't have an iPad, but I can tell you you're going to need a micro SIM.0

You can get a data sim but Giffgaff don't supply micro sims. You either have to cut it down yourself or a Giff gaff community member will do it for you and send you the sim.

I use a Three 3Gb/3month Data sim in my iPad, if you buy it via Quidco it works out about £8 (£20.49 less £12.50 Cash back).
I'm not a big mobile data user so they always last me the 3 months.
I've also read about a deal T-Mobile offer to iPhone 4/4S user which is a Micro Sim for £10 with 12 months free Internet, I've heard if you set it up using an iPhone and then place it in an iPad it works, but you can't set it up direct from a iPad.
I also cut full sized Sims (if its a cheaper deal) down to a Micro Sim without any issues.0 -
giffgaff DO supply microsims - I have one in my hand! (no it's not been cut down, it came straight from giffgaff - it's a regular sim with a microsim that kind of pops out so you can use it as either
I've never been impressed with 3's coverage so I was kind of steering away from them - I know Giffgaff use O2 so I was hoping the coverage would be better.
I don't have an iphone so wouldn't be able to set up the T-mobile one - though it sounds a bit dodgy/dishonest to me to do that - surely when they cotton on to what people are doing they'll pull this deal?
I don't expect to use the 3G side of the ipad all that often but I want it available when i need it ...0 -
is nobody using a giffgaff sim in an iPad?0

giffgaff provides micro sim cards
Coverage it the same as O2, as it uses O2 network
I haven't used it in iPad because mine is wifi only (no sim slot), as I use it at home only (and wifi via Virgin Media router), so I cannot tell.. the best place to ask is probably giffgaff community website.0 -

I'm not but many are.
Here is a link to one of the giffgaff community pages.

If you enter "ipad" in the community search box, you will find many more, including the settings needed to connect to internet.
The biggest issue appears to be the fact that you must use a "gigabag" rather than a "goodybag" on tablets"It's nice to be important but more important to be nice"
