Hi

I am in the market for a seven seater, although will only have a budget of around £2000, I have been looking at these two. Which one would you go for?

Some V70 cars have the extra 2 rear facing seats in the boot. They are not suitable for adults, only children. If thats okay I would definitely go with the Volvo. There are lots out there and they are capable of huge mileages with proper servicing. We have had a few Volvo estates and it's possible to find old volvo cars with one previous owner & full main dealer service history for less than your budget.
  • Neither,I'd go for a Galaxy/Alhambra which has proper full size rear seats.
Went shoplifting at the Disneystore today.

Got a huge Buzz out of it.

    Thank you for your replies.

I have been considering a galaxy too. but they seem to hold there value (obviously this is a good sign) but with such a small budget the ones I could afford are pretty old and/or high mileage.

A Trajet, I could get a much newer car, with pretty low mileage, and a Volvo goes forever anyway, so age/mileage isn't as much as a factor lol.

Yes children sized seats in the back are fine :)

Lot of ex police & ambulance V70 D5's and T5's. The D5s are strong and capable of 50+mpg. The T5's are very high performance (200+ bhp) but still capable of averaging into the 30s if not pushed hard.

Usually extremely cheap. Very high mileages, but well serviced. Both of these 5 cylinder engines are capable to running to very high mileages anyway without problems.

Bodyworks can sometimes have a few dings and scratches too from being workhorses, but usually for what you save you could easily have the body sorted out if it bothered you.

[edit] Only problem is I'm not sure any ex police/ambulance would be 7-seaters.

I would look for a Honda Stream or Toyota Previa.
