Halifax...help I need some advice

Hi I need some advice regarding Halifax...my credit rating is not fantastic due to bad choices and money managing in my younger days. I got an 'easy cash' account with Halifax about 2 years ago. It was then upgraded by them to a current account based on how I was running my account and then again to an ultimate reward account about 2 months after. I was also given a 5k overdraft. I've ran the account fine, never gone over my overdraft or had and direct debits bounce etc. I've just been informed via a call to them I had to make as I was having trouble with my accounts that the reward account is to removed as I don't qualify for this..how can they do this when I've been running the account fine for over a year?!! I'm worried sick I won't have an account. Surely I can sue if they do to remove this? I've done nothing wrong or fraudulent and if I wasn't eligible for the account they should realised when it was first upgraded.

Just to add the problem with the accounts was that my on line services were restricted not that I was having money issues0

What is it your worried they'll remove? I know that they can take the overdraft facility away from you any time they want, they'd have to have good reason to take the account away from you all together.0

If you use your overdraft regularly, to a substantial amount, they are likely to question your ability to ever pay it back. So you may represent a bad debt risk, and they will stop offering you the overdraft facility entirely.
From your post, it isn't entirely clear what the problem is, but it is highly unlikely you can sue for anything. Before you think about suing, you'd also still have the complaints procedure to try and resolve the dispute. Though the only likely reason for complaint you may have, given your posts here, is that that have not notified you in writing about the change(s) to your account. Or have they?
Your best course of action is perhaps to make an appointment in a Branch to discuss the way forward.0 -
Are you paying in the required monthly amount?0

Theres something not right with your post.
You say Halifax are removing the account of you, does this mean they are removing the entire account with the overdraft or that they are removing the reward because you are not paying in the £1000 a month?
You also mention a 5k overdraft, is this being taken away from you because you are not using it because I know that after doing a risk assessment many customers who have large overdrafts and not using them are having them removed?
Can you please clarify which of these appky and maybe I can advise what to do next?
If your telephone and online banking are restricted it seems to me they may suspect you of some wrongdoing/fraud and could possibly be closing the account down completely?0
