Hi there everyone, great forum I've been reading all the posts for the past couple of months about bogus parking companies.
Not going into any detail but it a company that has many threads on here.
Needless to say I got a charge through the post at the beginning of the year.
Paid for a 1 hour ticket and went 5 minutes over. (Could have taken 5 minutes to get out the car park!) Still got the ticket aswell. They have sent me 3 notices so far and I have ignored them all. 1x £60 and 2x£100. I've got until today to pay the last one otherwise its the courts.
I'm pretty sure it will never go to court and if it does I would destroy them.
However I'm getting married in a few months time and going on my honeymoon straight after. We have been saving and planning for the past year and if by some random chance they decide to go ahead it could ruin my wedding day or honeymoon.
Lets just say by some random chance they took me to court and the date was my wedding day or in the middle of my honeymoon.
What would I do then? if I did'nt turn up then they would win by default.
Would it be possible to ask the courts for another date?
Thanks

absolutely
But it will never come to that.
If this is a private parking company on private land, this court ruling

has well and truly pulled all four wheels of there gravy train.
NO PPC dare take you to court now.**** I hereby relieve MSE of all legal responsibility for my post and assume personal responsible for all posts. If any Parking Pirates have a problem with my post then contact me for my solicitors address.*****0 -
Also, as a Civil action you could request a continuance due to the date being inconvenient. As YL points out, the chances of court remain slim to negligible.0
