Hi, should cavity wall ties in a 1950's Wimpey built house be a problem? Would it get picked up on a normal building society valuation? I have no reason to suspect any problems just being paranoid!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek:

Are there any tell-tale signs? Most notably regular horizontal cracking, the second picture here: http://www.petercox.com/cavitywallties.php is a pretty good example.IANAL etc.0

Thanks for that link - no, there are no external signs. To be honest, having always bought new houses this is the first i've heard of it so just wanted to know a bit more about it and find out if i needed to be worried. Link was great - know what to look for now!0
