:( Awww....bless. Can you not ask your buyers to wait until you find a buyer? You never know?

I am one of those who think the law should be changed and at the very least if someone pulls out, they should have to pay the other persons costs to date.

Your next buyer might just be round the corner. Why on earth do people make an offer if they're not sure - have they no morals? I could never do it.

I hope you find another buyer soon.

I really feel for you, the exact same thing happened to us yesterday, only we were due to exchange contracts yesterday and just before that happened she pulled out. The full chain has now collapsed and it has left us approx £1500 down :-(

I believe in karma and just know they will get beaten buy it eventually, on the plus side we have another viewing on Friday :j

Fingers crossed it works out for you very soon

Thanks for your comments. I also believe the law should be changed. I would never put in an offer unless i was 100% sure and commited. It's too easy to pull out but i guess there are people out there for whom losing a thousand odd pound is nothing and theres others like us who will now have to save the money up again!! I cant imagine how you must be feeling to have been let down so late in the process!!!! wishing you lots of luck with your viewing :j

The EA is asking the chap selling if he will give us a couple of weeks to see if we sell so keeping my fingers crossed! He has told us previously that he will probably go into rented accomodation and not in a rush so you never know. Just got to get some more viewings now :)

Oh, I'm gutted for you. It's every vendors nightmare and yes the law should be changed to make sure people are not left out of pocket.

Like you, I only ever offer on something I'm 100% committed to and why people offer when they are not sure only to end up changing their minds at the last minute is beyond me.

I hope you find another buyer quickly.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

I know you have lost about £800 but imagine ifit had just been before exchange, you would have spent more ! Trying to put it into context for you but agree it is every sellers nightmare.

Fingers crossed a new buyer appears soon

I am so sorry for you - I know exactly how you feel as my buyer pulled out last week, didn't even have the courtesy to give a reason.

As others have said, the law should be changed.

I do hope you find a new buyer very soon and you get the home of your dreams x

  • It's a nightmare isn't it? Our buyer pulled out about 3 weeks ago and came back today to say he wanted it after all. We obviously said no as we don't feel we can trust him now.

Thanks for your messages. The people selling the house we were buying have agreed to give us a week or so before putting it back on the market to see if we sell but I'm not very hopefull. :o there's lots of us going through it at the moment and it's scary to think it can happen again and we'll lose the same amount again but trying to think positively!! Good luck to the others too :)
