Anyone got any views on these? They've got the Mono suite on offer in my local B&Q for £499 all in (except side and end panels for the bath). I'd originally planned on getting an Idea Standard White suite, but this offers seems decent value for money.
Anyone got a B&Q suite - is it any good?
Thanks
Dave

We bought a B&Q takeaway bathroom suite and even though it is ok, suited what we wanted, make sure they have all the bits there and don't have to order it in. We waited nearly 4 months after paying for ours before receiving all the bits. Toilet and sink came in a large sealed box on a pallet and it wasn't until after they had delivered it and we opened it up we found that the toilet bowl was missing and some of the plumbing for the bath.0

I had the mono straight bath in a previous house (chose it myself). fantastic bath. seriously. deep, wide, handles, smooth pop up plug, off centre so no 'plug end', chose where our taps went so no 'tap end', it was sturdy too, and cleaned easily. If I had the right bathroom dimensions for it again, I'd buy it in a shot. As debjam says though, b&q took ages to deliver everything, with wrong items and some things doubled up, it was just daft.0

I recently bought a full bathroom suite from my local builders suppliers with a plumbing section.
It cost £199 all in including the side panel, waste, plugs.
The bath is wide and deep, dual flush close coupled toilet and large basin.
I fitted different taps as my wife is a stickler for things like that but everyone who has seen it fitted cant believe how cheap it was.
The original taps were okay, just a bit standard.
It may be worth looking at your locals to see if they have a similar deal.
Package is made by Staffordshire-ceramics.
P.s. i tried to buy one from B&Q but they were either all missing bits or broken.0 -
I've got the Ideal Standard White Suite- I love it. The bath is deep the toilet looks good and the basin is nice. I'm very pleased with the quality and i think it was cheaper than buying from b& Q I paid £660 from a local plumbers merchants - Suite only. I got the lot delivered within a week and when it was convenient for me.0

Cheapest I've seen the White suite online is 515, but the bath is an extra 300 on top! I do like it, but don't know if its "worth" the extra?
ianeverton - haven't yet looked at my local builder's merchant, but Grahams have sent me brochures and they do the ideal standard kit, so that's what gave me the idea in the first place!0 -
What you need to do is throughly research the prices online and then go into a small independent plumbers merchant and see how much he'll do it for, say you can get cheaper etc etc. I got the bath, Close coupled toilet with seat and 500mm circular basin for £660. I did buy the panel for the bath later and that cost £135 for side & end panel. I did buy a lot of other stuff from the plumbers merchants as we needed taps, shower and a new hot water tank although i was happy that these were offered at a competitive price.0
