I have just been reading up on PPI reclaiming with much interest. Congratulations to those who have claimed and had their money returned.
I have a few questions about claiming as I am really unsure on it all.
We had car finance and a loan with Welcome finance both over 6 years ago which I cant find the paperwork for. I know they both had PPI and we were told at the time we had to take it out as part of the agreement. Am I right in thinking that firstly they are no longer trading so I cant claim and even if they were I couldnt claim as its over 6 years and I dont have the paperwork.
Thank you for any help.

I think the car was 2002 running for 3 years, and the loan 2004 running for 2 years.Total 2019: £3972 - Best win this year £3000

Get in touch with Welcome and see if they can find you, the 02 may be a tricky one but you won't know until you get your info and put the claims in.0

i've got a claim running with the fscs regarding a welcome loan in 2005 and they told me if I wanted to try for loans prior to that, then to contact Welcome directly.
I did last week and today received a questionaire from them and advice on how to get my account numbers etc by sending them £1 and they'll forward them to me.
I'll be doing it tomorrow and hopefully that will start my case.0 -
I got in touch with them, they found the accounts right away however they said my DOB did not match what they had on their records, I had to send proof of DOB to them. Now I have to wait for the account details - If they will give them to me. Thanks for all your help.Total 2019: £3972 - Best win this year £3000

I am having real difficulty with this and wonder if anyone has advice. I have written to them proving our date of birth and then got a letter back saying that I should write to another department. Which I did.
I got another letter back saying they were unable to review our claim. I was given another address to write to entitled 'complaints department' I have written and emailed saying I don't understand what the problem is and demanding a response as to why the unable to review the claim but I have had no response, when I ring they say they cant find me despite me giving them a reference number.
Where do I go with this - I don't really want to go to a company to claim but I am hitting a brick wall.Total 2019: £3972 - Best win this year £3000

All I can advise is that a Claims Company could do no more than you have already done. They have no special means of forcing lenders to consider your complaints and do no research on your behalf.I don't really want to go to a company to claim but I am hitting a brick wall.
Could be worth contacting FOS for advice...0 -
