All logins and passwords not being recognised

Sorry if this is a bit vague, but just had a call from my partners mum who's having trouble with her computer.

She was in facebook a couple of days ago and a message came up saying something like her computer was under threat and they would block all her other logins on other websites to protect her.

Since then she cant log into her hotmail account or a few other forumsn and websites she usually goes on.

I've told her to run a full system scan on her Norton package, but would it allow her to access them if she reset the computer to a previous date.

As I said, I've not seen what its says and it was explained over the phone but is there an easy way to overcome this.

Sounds like a real nasty. But given that she's tried to log on and failed I would tell her to find another computer and try to login on that - if she can then change the passwords before whoever has !!!!!!ed her computer changes them for her. If she can't then it means the passwords have already been changed.

Regardless of what happens tell her not to log onto anything in the dodgy computer until it's sorted.
