Thompson & Morgan Deliveries

I am about to move into a new house (house is old but new to me) and mum suggested that I take up the offer in the Radio Times for 36 perennial plants for the cost of postage of £4.90. On checking the website she gave me I noticed that this is an arm of Thompson & Morgan and wanted to know how long they would take to deliver?

I would like to order now but wouldnt want the plants to arrive this week as I won't be at the new house then but I will be at the end of next week (30 June). Would I be safe in ordering the plants now?

    I would not risk it

Is the offer time limited? If not wait a week

The offer doesnt appear to be time limited, I think I will wait until the start of next week before I place an order, that way I know that someone will be in as we dont get the keys until Monday (dont want the vendors getting their mitts on my stuff).

I have just ordered a similar offer from T&M and the estimated delivery is August.

  • There's quite a long lead time on these so you should be ok. I did the same offer via Gardeners' World at the end of April and I'm still waiting. I'm told mine should be despatched at the end of this month.

I spoke to my mum last night and she looked at the page from the RT and it said they would be delivered at the end of July. I have now placed my order for 36 perennials worth £23 (and some pence) which have cost me £4.90:j

  • If the plants are anything like the quality from previous offers of this type then it's a good deal. Much better in my opinion than the so called £100 worth of plants for £14.99 offers that have been doing the rounds recently. The plants will be small, no bigger than large plugs really and they won't look much, but if you pot them on into individual pots as soon as you receive them they will soon establish and you'll be able to plant them out in the garden in early autumn.
