laptop hibernating ? or ?

new samsung laptop. .. hadn't used it for a couple of hours .. came back to it and screen black . Could hear everything whirring though.

anything / everything i tried to make it fire up again failed .

trying the on/off button wouldn't turn it off .

As i closed the lid ready to take it to the computer shop ... opened it and it fired up fine !!

Is this something to do with energy/power saving ? ... is there any other setting i should have it on ..or is this what it does .. and the cure ?

    yes, it's likely to be the power-saving settings....set it to how you want it to behave :)
