Best Way to Scrap a Car

Hi all,
I have 2001 ford fiesta that i am looking to scrap end of July as the MOT will have expired then and it will require 4 new tyres and tax and i am also getting a newer car soon so do not require this anymore. The car runs fine but its just the rust that has took over the car bodywork.
What is the best way to scrap the car or to sell as spares and repairs. I have phoned a local person up who has offered £125 for it as scrap but i think this is a bit low.
Any advice would be great to help me get the best price.

A Fiesta doesn't weigh a lot. £125 is a reasonable offer.0

I would say the only way you'll get over £125 is to break the car. Time consuming task but you should still get close to £125 mark for scrap when you're finished (depending on what's left).0

Try getting an instant quote from http://www.cartakeback.com/ and see how it compares to the quote you have.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -

Before the MoT runs out (ie when it can still be driven away) advertise it for spares or repair at say £200. You know you have £125 'in your pocket' so try and do a deal above that. TBH I woudn't spend a lot of time trying to get the extra tenner or so.0 -

I'm in exactly the same situation with my old Volvo 850 in that I have a new company car on the way, but the MOT will expire on the Volvo before then and it needs tyres, exhaust, etc to pass and I won't be spending the money. Its up for sale now as complete as its taxed and MOT'd but as we approach MOT if no sale, I'll list it as spares or repairs but still driveable, and then last resort is to scrap for whatever its worth.
I've just had a look on the cartakeback link, apparently I'd get up to £180 for the Volvo which is a heavy old car in comparison to the Fiesta, so I'd say your £125 isn't too bad scrap value.0 -
Just make sure the the local person you called or whoever you end up dealing with for that matter issues you an end of life cert for the car.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Just had a car picked up by cartake back. No complaints and cheque was pre-printed.0

The best way to scrap a car is to get my old acquaintance, Haircut Rab to give it a service.
If you actually want to dispose of a highly desireable wee gem like a Fiesta, put it on local Gumtree at £500 and have a stick handy to fight them off.0
