Selling my CD collection - ebay or car boot?

Has anybody got experience of selling CDs on ebay or car boot?
Basically I've got 100+ CDs sitting on a shelf at home that I no longer listen to, where would be the best place to list them? I'd only be looking for a £1 each really but I guess I wouldn't get that at a car boot?
The problem with ebay is that bidders may think they are fakes (as they do with DVDs) and don't want to lose out by listing them and having to pay loads in listing fees!
All the CDs are singles or albums from popular bands from pretty recently (last 10years or so) AFAIK I don't have any rare albums/singles but because of that ebay swings it for me on where to sell it.... I don't want to flog them at a car boot to find out later they're worth more.
Any advice is appreciated!

Look them up on Amazon first, and check out the long Amazon thread to see how it works and how to gauge if something is worth listing on Amazon or not.

Why not wait for a cheap/free listing day?
Do take note of what Soolin suggests, though and check to see if anything happens to be worth more than you think.0 -
Thanks for both your advice.
I was thinking about checking amazon, but I didn't want to have to go through all my CDs looking them up etc but I have jsut remembered seeing a 'sell your past purchases' ad on there so might have a look at that - several of the CDs I have I've bought from amazon.0 -
I've had a look at amazon, they seem to want to take a lot for selling them - more than ebay by the looks of things?0

true - but you can leave them there for as long as you like at no cost at all, and no paypal fees, also you can list each one in about 1 minute - just one line of description is needed and you key in the barcoade number to take you to the item pageIf I screw my eyes up tight I can just about see where you're coming from0

Well, I'm trying to sell them to raise cash so don't really want them to be stuck on my shelf for ages. I think ebay (after checking prices on amazon) will have to be the way to go!
Cheers for all your help.0 -
what CDs you got? haha, i may buy them

Whenever I go to buy CDs, I am always more reassured by the seller having an actual picture of the CD case and the CD itself, than by sellers who just use stock photo. So although it's time consuming, if you are able to, I would suggest it is well worth adding photos to your listing (quick tip, it is often quicker and better to use a scanner for something like a CD, than it is to use a camera).
Also, in your listings state that the CD is a genuine original. Whilst this doesn't guarantee anything, it again goes a little way to reassuring potential buyers.0 -
No one would buy my CD collection, it's all 80's stuff!0

I had a lot of about 60 cd's to sell on Ebay last year - the ones that sold went for on average about £2.00 - 2.50. I sold about half individually and had to sell the rest as a lot as they weren't selling. The problem with cd's is there are thousands of sellers who are selling them for almost nothing.Son, if a job's worth doing it's worth doing half-assed - that's The American Way.
