Historic subsidence and insurance

We have had a combined buildings and contents insurance policy with prudential for 16 years. The premium this year is £433.10 so I thought I would use this site to search for cheaper insurance. confused.com asks if we have ever been surveyed and told we have evr had subsidence. Our house is 100 years old and our mortgage lender did a survey when we applied for a mortgage which said that there was 'historic' evidence of subsidence. When confused.com asks me whether the property has ever had subsidence, what do I say, as I can't get beyond page one unless I state taht the property has never had subsidence.

If the survey says subsidence you have to put yes and watch the online insurers run a mile.

Depending on just how historic it is some insurer may consider insuring the property but it would require reference to an underwritter which cannot obviously be done online.

If isnt that long ago (which 16 years isnt in subsidence terms) then generally you are stuck with either your mortgage providers insurer or the insurer at the time of the subsidence.
