I new help with my house alarm, we just moved in and the previous owner didn't leave any manual for us and the house alarm doesn't have any company name that we can use so we can search for it. Anyway whenever we enter the house there's a sound that always come on and were afraid it might notify the neighbours whenever we leave? Also the owner said we need to reset it but how?
Im not able to post photo because I'm new and I don't know but the URL is pic.twitter.com/ovchwIm please help me

It sounds like your alarm has an entry and exit "chime" set.
It is possible to turn them off but it depends on the alarm make and model as to how to do this.
The link to the image you've supplied is not viewable as you have your twitter security set high.
You could try placing it on somewhere like photobucket.
Also, if you have the original sellers details why don't you ask for the manual / fitters information?0 -
Call an alarm engineer or install/maintenance firm from your local area.
Find them with Yell or Google.0 -

That is the photo of my alarm- the only thing missing is the company name also the previous owner gave us the code to set the alarm but the problem is we don't know how to. We also dont know whoe to reset it which he said we need to do and the symbols on the far right of the alarm are I think the following from top to bottom ( again not sure if you can see the picture)
1)volume getting louder-
2) fire
3) running man- burglar possibly0 -
You have a Pyronix Conquerer alarm system

:)i have another problem, the alarm has been going off on its own accord and i dont know what causes it to go off, when it does go off, the tamper light lights up. does this mean it needs a change of the battery?
ive tried unscrewing the alarm itself to open it up, but whenever i do, the alarm would go off, and again, tamper would show up (which i guess is applicable as i am opening it). is this normal? it doesnt say on the manual, whether it is.
ALSO, haha. sorry its a bit long, would the battery be inside the alarm ,i am not sure, because ive read some threads (about others alarm not particularly the same model) and some said they need some kind of a main panel/box where it is located.0 -
There will be a battery inside the main control unit. And there will be another smaller battery inside the outside sounder. If anyone tries to tamper with the external sounder, ie cut the cables etc this battery operates the sounder. Also if you have a total power failure, the panel battery takes over the supply to the system. When this runs down then the external sounder battery kicks in as it thinks the cable has been cut. This battery can run a sounder for weeks!!! Not really, but can easily run for 12/24 hours.
Unfortunately, on a basic system like this a general tamper signal can be a cut cable, device cover dislodged, control unit or sounder cover removed. You will need to check every device for security of cover.0 -

I've just had a reliable local company take an alarm over in a property. They put in a new bell-box, new batteries and tested all. £80 for all that and a year's maintenance with 24hr call out.
Why not save yourself the grief?Under no circumstances may any part of my postings be used, quoted, repeated, transferred or published by any third party in ANY medium outside of this website without express written permission. Thank you.0 -
The tamper will go off if you unscrew the bell box cover, alarm cover and if you remove the bellbox from the wall.
It will have a compressed spring (or something similar) that will set the alarm of as you've "tampered with it" by removing a cover or from the wall.
If the tamper is going off in the hot weather it may be the bell box is getting hot and expanding off the wall and/or the bell box cover causing the system to think someone is messing about with it.
The tamper alarm should only trigger from a power point of view if the battery has failed and the mains also flicks in and out.
The battery is a piece of cake to replace, you'll probably need one with a solid gel core.
Obviously messing about with the siren/bell box on the wall is a ladders competent job but none of it is very complicated.
Edit:- If you know the engineers code you can silence the alarm whilst working on it and save yourself a lot of ear ache.0
