I have never attempted to call the start of a property crash, and today is no exception:)
But I quite often use a search criteria on Rightmove, and over the last few weeks I have seen quite a few attractive properities that look like they are up for auction or are having to find a buyer quick.
They usually have a guide price and they have a open day which is within a few weeks. the guide prices I have seen are usually a lot cheaper than similar type properties that have been on sale in recent years.

Today there are five of these properties, whats going on??

What search criteria do you input on RM to find repo's / distressed sales?

Not sure about repros/distressed sales but 3 sites to use are

home, property snake and property bee.
home tells you how long a property has been on the market and if it has been reduced.
The others you will have to research on HPC

    Did this 'crash' ever materialise?

According to the Land Reg prices are actually up 8% in Cambridgeshire since the OP noted a rush of distressed sellers.

Funny that, I would have thought finding 5 properties locally which had attractive auction guide prices or where the owners had an open day would be the clearest sign of an impending crash.

I hope nobody from the Government see's this or they'll have to think up another scheme and quickly to ensure a crash does not occur!
