Disabled parking EXCEPT 4pm-7pm, ticket 6:50

Hi,

Last night I dropped my wife off at the theatre, I parked in a disabled bay at 6:50. I displayed her blue badge and walked her to the theatre to meet her friends. On returning to the car I found the penalty notice stuck to the windscreen. Puzzled as to why we had received such a 'blessing' I tried to it figure out. On closer inspection the sign near said:

Leeds City
Council
Disabled
badge
holders
only
At all times
EXCEPT
Mon - Fri
4.00pm - 7.00pm
waiting limited
to 4 hours
return prohibited
within 1 hour

As you've guessed, I missed the except 4-7 bit. Which is fair enough, I think the thing that annoys me is that if we'd rolled the car back 10 foot we would of been on double yellows and we could of parked without getting a ticket.

Anyway, I accept I made a mistake but the nature of the ticket seems unjust. Please could anyone suggest whether it would be worth appealing or should I just pay up and grit my teeth?

Thank for any advise
James

Deffo appeal most councils give you a one slip allowance, just explain the situation.

It they refuse the informal appeal then look at a formal one with help from Pepipoo.

Def appeal, also have a look at the bay you were parked in, a lot of bays in Leeds are non compliant which basically means the ticket is unenforceable and would be an easy win.

Definitely appeal - most people win who post on pepipoo about their PCN:

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=30

They will help you if you start a new thread with a pic of both sides of the PCN and a pic of the bay lines & signs (or GSV link if the street view is the same).

Most definitely worth appealing any Council PCN IMHO, there is no Court - only adjudication which is an office meeting - and most people who go that far, win.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Looks a little over zealous on the wardens part to me, i read that sign to say that it is disabled paking only except between 4 and 7 when anyone can park there. No mention of badge holders not being allowed.
    Definately appeal.
