Sacked off the idea of applying for Natwest CC, decided alongside my Barclaycard Initial I will maintain a Capital One for 6 months+ to improve my credit score further & get my Credit Report completely sorted.


Anyway - I applied for the Capital One Classic, only expecting a low limit as I have £800 on my BC Initial, but after applying it said they will write to me in the next 7 days.

Anybody had this before and been accepted/rejected? Or know exactly what they're doing for 7 days when most other providers provide decisions within minutes in most cases online?

Should think they are considering whether you should be given a chance to show you can handle the credit !
You did not get an instant "No" so the underwriters must be giving you some consideration at least .

It may be that the system wasn't able to verify your detail? (moved house, not on the electoral role?)

I wouldn't worry too much if thats not the case, as EycplUK said, if they were going to decline you they would have done it instantly.

I'm on the electoral rOle and have only lived at 1 address. Could they be waiting for my credit report to update with next BC statement?

I hope they do accept me want to be on one CC with a good rate by the new year!
