Could anyone advise on the best way to get tv signal in a room without running wires?
After looking at various "smart" tvs, wireless av senders in Maplin, and the tv catchup app on my ipod (with the view to buying an iPad and downloading the app onto that), I'm not sure what to do.
All we want is to watch tv upstairs, but DH has chronic back pain so won't be crawling around in the loft anytime soon.

If you've got Sky get them in to install Multiroom
Features- Watch different Sky TV channels in different rooms, at the same time
- Watch what you want, where you want
- Just one HD Pack subscription needed to enjoy HD throughout the home
- Free Sky HD Multiroom box

I use AV sender from main telly to kitchen, works fine, though both need to be on same channel.0 -

El cheapo is a length of co-ax from the back of the Sky box up to the bedroom TV and A TV link unit for the remote.

Get a handy friend to route the cable.

Trouble with AV senders if you have a lot of wireless routers around it can be unwatchable, I had one and a neighbour set up a wireless camera and all I got from then on was a picture of their caravan!
Or you can buy a Freesat box and get that wired into your Sky dish, it will cost more to setup but no monthly payments after that0 -
Thanks for the posts so far.

Get an aerial installer in to provide a feed to your bedroom. He may need to fit an active diplexer depending on the signal strength from the main aerial. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
