Unlawful parking

On the 17th March 2012 I went to B & Ms in Stockport town centre. The car park was full to I looked around and found a spot to park my car making sure I was not obstructing anything, parking on double yellow lines or in a delivery/parking bay. As I parked I observed an Asian man watching me. He then approached me to tel me I could not park where I had chosen, pointing to a sign at the entrance at a level of approximately 6-7 foot high. I pointed out to him there was no where to park, then informed him I was going to complain to the manager of the store. I went into the store, asked for the manager, then waiting some time for the manager to see me. She toldme "it is private land and the owners can do what they want". I went back to my car feeling angry got into my car and drove home. On 25th April I received througfh the post a letter with the heading Parking Charge Notice (PCN). Attached to this letter was a picture of my car (clearly showing I was not obstructing or blocking any one in etc) and also a parking ticket attached. This ticket requested the sum of £70.50 to be paid in 28 days or if paid in 14 days £50. I ignored this as I felt I had not done anythin g wrong. On 25th May I received another letter, again with the words Parking Charge Notice. Demanding £94. I ignored this letter. On 11th June I received yet again another letter this time demanding the money (£94) and threatening me they will instigate formal proceedings. Court, Court feesa Court Ju, legal costs and that they will instruct bailiffs to remove goods for the satisfaction of the debt. There are no parking metres on this site but there are white squares painted for cars to park except where my car was parked even though it was not obstructing. Please advise I am extremely worried about this. Thank you Susie

Well don't be worried.
It's an.invoice which you can ignore
Which company was it btw?.
Oh and the was nothing unlawful about your parkingHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
That was hard work reading that, please try paragraphs as I lost the will to live at the end

Anyway what you have received is an unenforceable invoice, so just ignore it all and it will go away for you.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Ignore it. If its private land then they have no more ability to charge you than i have. If you read the threads in this forum, you'll find the standard advice of 'ignore them' has worked for thousands of parking invoices . They have no legal ability to pursue you, because what they have sent you is an invoice inviting you to pay an illegal penalty charge they are not entitled to set and unable to enforce in court.
They cannot take you to court as it will get thrown out in two minutes. No bailiffs can call round because they cant rpove the debt in court.
Its all bluff and scare tactics. There people on here have ignored dozens of these invoices, nothing ever happens. You may get a series of very scary looking but completely toothless threatening letters, all promising dire consequences if you ignore them, and in fact its hollow threats, because thats all they have. They know they cant enforce the invoice in court , so they rely on scaring you into paying. Its all they have to go one.
So ignore them, have a laugh at the ridiculous letters they send, safe in the knowledge they have no more ability to take any money off you then I have.**** I hereby relieve MSE of all legal responsibility for my post and assume personal responsible for all posts. If any Parking Pirates have a problem with my post then contact me for my solicitors address.*****0 -

I couldn't even read it from the beginning, never mind getting to the end!
To the OP, a 'Parking Charge Notice' is NOT a real PCN but a fake one.
Just ignore it.
The most that will happen is some more junk mail letters that you can ignore; you are just in the middle of a mail scam at the moment.
No private parking company (PPC) can actually issue a real fine or penalty. Please read on...
We have so much info on here to help you understand and be ready for the letters. One click & you see all current threads here, most of which are about the 'fake PCN' scam.
Third from the top, click on 'PPC letters & threats'.
1. Watch the Watchdog clip on there, and then
2. scroll down to the pics of your fave PPC's threatograms, then
3. Play a nice game of snap with each matching templated threatogram, then
4. Tell your friends & family, colleagues, strangers, everyone! about the fake PCN scam so they never pay one.
You will know what we mean about this being a SCAM, and you will get confidence when you've seen the letters & watched the Watchdog clip.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I will take all the advice you have all provided watch the watchdog clip. Thank you all once again. Susie0
