PayPal 'Payment Pending' confusion.

Hello

I have spent all afternoon uploading photos to Snapfish and making collages & photo books etc. I then paid for my items on their website with PayPal. At the final stage of payment a message flashed up saying an error had occurred and to try again. I did try again. The order appeared to go through. I then noticed that my shopping cart still had all the items in it which is odd for a completed shop. So i logged into PayPal and 2 transactions for the same amount are pending to Snapfish. My PayPal balance has reduced by one amount so far.

I then checked my order history on Snapfish and they have no record of an order for me, let alone two orders. Their phone lines closed at 6pm and their live help has been unavailable all evening. I can't seem to cancel the pending amounts in PayPal and I can't open a dispute in PayPal because the charge has not gone through.

Snapfish have this in their help section for Ireland (cannot find one for England) regarding PayPal:

http://www.snapfish.ie/snapfishie/helppaypal

So if Snapfish have no record of my 2 identical orders, and I can't cancel the pending transactions in PayPal, what happens to my effectively frozen money?

I wish I had just paid on my debit card now. I'm so frustrated with all of this and could really do with some advice from someone on here who understands PayPal better than I do! :(

Thanks in advance everyone...

YoJoJo - I had the same problem this evening, only they've taken 4 payments from me. I'm also very frustrated.

I spoke to livechat who said I need to email snapfish customer services, so I have done. You have to provide the paypal transaction ID's.

Only one of my payments is showing in paypal, not 4, but 4 payments have been taken out according to my online banking. I also have 4 paypal receipts.

I have a charge on my PayPal account, but the order does not appear in my Snapfish account. What should I do?

If you do not see the order in your order history section in your Snapfish account, then a payment was taken by PayPal, but the order was not placed yet on Snapfish.
To obtain a refund, you will need to dispute the additional charge through PayPal. When you have successfully disputed the charge, we will receive notification from PayPal and reply to it promptly so that you can receive your refund.
To dispute the charge, log in to your PayPal account and click on the 'My account' section. Then, click on 'Resolution center' to begin the transaction dispute process.
After you have disputed the charge, please place your Snapfish order again.

This is going to be a nightmare.

The money has been taken out of my bank account, but it's not appearing on paypal or snapfish. I reckon I just lost £48 :( Paypal isn't recognising the transaction ID's even though I have the emails and the money has been taken.

This was meant to be a Birthday present I was paying for and someone was going to pay me when i'd ordered what I wanted. £16 order is now costing me £48 as I can't ask the other person for the money i've lost :(

YoJoJo - been reading about this on google - looks like it happens alot with snapfish and paypal with most people having real difficulties getting their cash back.

Well, today I finally had both PayPal transactions cancelled from Snapfish's end. It took a few emails to their Customer Service team to get it done but it has finally happened.

I did get the same order through using a Debit Card. I just have to hope only one payment goes out of my account for that! Will check my statement when it comes in the post.

    Any luck your end?
