Nice spot, OP. Back in the day I did my own (very simple & uncontested) divorce from a book. My only costs were the notary for an oath & registered post for sending some forms.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0

You still have to pay court fee's of £340 plus whatever it is for the decree absolute. The £17.00 is for them completing the forms, which you can do yourself for free!0

themull is quite right, the £17 is just a fee for a service you don't need anyway so not quite the 'bargain' it first appears!Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -

ouch ! thats so unfair. maybe some one out there on the forum will have additional ideas that may help tooThank you to all the money savers:beer: for all the wisdom, companionship, bargains, competitions and ideas:T you have made a transformation to our household, Thank you, it would have been so much harder without you and together we are amazing :A:smileyhea0 -
I tried an online divorce to do it cheaply before I realised I would have to pay the court fee and was unaware I was entitled to Legal Aid. Any change or mistake was charged for. I PERSONALLY wouldn't do this. Look for professional help and feel secure you have done it properly.Sadly, you don't have any badges yet but keep trying! See what you could get........... oh boo hoo I am crying into my wine.

My partner was able to speak to an employee at his local courthouse who deals with divorces and got her help to fill in the form - for free!
She couldn't give advice obviously, but helped us understand the legal jargon!
But still have to pay court fees

It is very simple and easy to divorce using the direct gov website to guide you. DO NOT pay any company to fill out forms which are straightforward to complete with the guidance from the website.Getting fit for 2013 - Starting weight 10.1.13 88.1kg
