Vodafone - Overseas Costs UP!

Be aware. From 1st July, when many will be taking a holiday in Europe, vodafone passport will stop. Instead there will be a charge of £3 for each day you use the phone. Maybe for some it will be good, but if you are like us - and just like to text the family to say that we are all OK from time to time BEWARE. At the moment with Passport this text will cost 12p. From July 1st ONE text will cost you £3. Make a simple text every two days on a fortnight's holiday = 7 x £3........£21

This change only helps if you are a phone addict and cannot leave it alone - even on holiday.

You sure that's not the cost for internet?

Orange charge me £3 per day for 30mb which is a good deal.

Sorry OP but you're wrong - for a start there's the EU maximum costs for calls & texts - I believe you are referring to Vodafone Eurotraveller which is an option enabling you to use your existing UK allowance in Europe - so if you do not opt in and only do one text per day back to the UK the cost will be 11 p or whatever the EU dictates

Besides which it seems that Vodafone are only stopping Passport for contract customers. It's still available on PAYG. So it'll be much cheaper to phone home from Australia on a Vodafone PAYG than on a contract phone:)
