Parking Eye - Brock Hole Visitor Centre

Hi, we've received a 'parking charge notice' for having been at the Brock Hole visitor centre car park for slightly longer than the ticket we bought, which looks exactly like the ones on the third thread, and having read various threads it looks like we should just ignore it BUT I have one niggling question.

Whilst the charge notice clearly states that the car park at Brock Hole visitor centre is private land, the people who run the visitor centre are the Lake District National Authority (i.e. lakedistrict.gov.uk) SO does anyone know is this a 'real' fine issued by a council, or an unenforceable invoice for a parking charge as per all the other very helpful advice?? My gut tells me it's the latter as there's no mention of Lake District National Park Authority on the charge notice (just Brock Hole as the location of the car park).

Your post title says that the ticket was issued by Parking Eye?

Therefore it is not "real", never was and never will be.

Does it say Penalty Charge Notice ? Is the payment or appeal to the council or parking eye ?
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Does it mention The Road Traffic Act at the top?

My guess is no. In which case, ignore it.

where does it tell you to senfd the payment to?
    asuming its private...

How much would it have cost you to park for the time you actualy parked for?
The difference between the time that you would have paid if you knew how long you would be, and the ticket you paid for is all that you owe them.
if the charge is 80p for the first hour, and £1.50 for up to two hours, and you paid 80p but stayed for 1 hour 15 minutes then all you owe them is another 70p to cover the price difference.
you should offer them this as a full and final settlement, and then tell them that they have made an administrative error, as private parking companys can not impose penatlys, or fines, and anything other than an appology for this error together with an acknowledgement that they have received this letter will constitute harrasment, from which you may take action against the car park owner, and the parking company involved.

    Does the ticket mention

    Bylaws
    and
    Magistrates court
    and
does the penalty go down for paying quickly

If all of these it is one to take seriously, if not then ignore.

The Lake District National Park seem to have outsourced their car park management to PE. I parked in one of their car parks in Coniston recently. I even paid the £7 for the day's parking. Despite it being the National Park, they aren't a council or other authority who can issue penalties - bit like hospitals, in that while "public sector", it's still effectively a private car park. The conclusion of which is to ignore the correspondence. The most you owe is the difference between what you should have paid for the length of stay and what you actually paid - probably a pound or two.

Where it can be argued that the landowner suffered small damages from your overstay (say you overstayed for 15 minutes and the hourly cost was 60p, then you owe 15p). However it is only the landowner whom can sue to seek the money back and not some 3rd party whom tried to charge an ambulance.

So ignore Parking Pie, they won't be going anynear a court anyday soon, unless it's on the defence side.

    Hi

No mention of the council, the Road Traffic Act, or anyone other than Parking Eye. Appeals are to them, and interestingly on the Lake District national park's own website any appeals associated with Parking Eye are directed to contact only parking eye. Does not say Penalty charge, just parking charge (as original post noted, its the same notice as the Notice 1 updated on the examples). So i think i'm going to sit tight and ignore them.

Yep, ignore them. Parking Eye do not act in any official capacity for anyone.

The most that will happen is some junk mail letters that you can ignore.
No private parking company (PPC) can actually issue a real fine or penalty. Please read on...

We have so much info on here to help you understand and be ready for the letters. One click & you see all current threads here, most of which are about the 'fake PCN' scam.

Third from the top, click on 'PPC letters & threats'.

    1. Watch the Watchdog clip on there, and then

    2. scroll down to the pics of your fave PPC's threatograms, then

    3. Play a nice game of snap with each matching templated threatogram, then

    4. Tell your friends & family, colleagues, strangers, everyone! about the fake PCN scam so they never pay one.

You will know what we mean about this being a SCAM, and you will get confidence when you've seen the letters & watched the Watchdog clip. :)
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
