Thanks, yeah I am really happy with my Miele, but I need a handheld to compliment it (fed up of dragging it out from the cupboard every day just to hover hte sofa) and Dyson seem to be by far the best for handheld vacuums, helped of course also by my £70 off voucher!

Amazing how expensive Dyson' products are as he now gets them knocked out in a Chinese sweat shop having closed down his UK manufacturing operation some years ago. To my mind the advantage of the bagless design is completely negated when you empty the thing in a cloud of dust.

    Depends where you empty it;)

Better than anything I have ever used in upright form(never tried a Miele though).

With you on the price and cornered market for attachments though. Total rip off IMO, but not much different to any worthwhile competitor.

They've just replied to tell me the £70 discount will only apply to an upright or cylinder vacuum. Arghhh!

    I can get this for £150 - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dyson-Full-size-Cylinder-Engineered-Removing/dp/B003479PNO

But honestly it seems like such a waste when I already have a perfectly good cylinder vacuum :(

The Black and Decker Pd1200 looks tempting now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYCHQyCSp0I

If I'm honest in many ways it has a clear advantage over the Dyson also, most noticeably the price and the fact it's flexible enough to get into those hard to reach places, something the Dyson wouldn't be capable of.

There's just something about the Dyson though that's really appealing, almost like an Apple product! Plus I like the fact the Dyson would be good for safely and humanely helping me get rid of spiders ;p

Don't know much about them, but have seen these whilst indulging a guilty pleasure watching QVC.

Thank you, interesting idea, although I've actually gone for the B&D Pivot! Got some fantastic reviews, and seems perfect for what I'm after

Wonder why it is only for sale to people over 18?

Not sure, but it only had 2 reviews that weren't 5 star - one of them saying it blew up after he incorrectly changed the plug, and the other asking that exact same question! Almost went for another product that had better reviews until I read them ;p
