I would suggest placing it here, with some clue as to what the deal is in the thread title... http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=360

HiYa GunJack lad .. .. long time etc .. .. yer old lugger, no .. .. its cheepo 'lifestyle' standard memory and Patriot Axle also a 'lifestyle' standard can be had for the same shillings. The fact of the matter is the less aware are still paying daft prices for 32GB sticks and WilliamO quite properly posted the info to this group on low cost 64GB sticks.
I still flick through this group most days, but usually make no contribution .. .. gerrin' too old now lad:beer:

I looked at this and it made me hunt around, as RIchie points out similar deals are available elsewhere.
It did make realise how cheap flash memory as become in the last 123 months though.
I notice that some sticks are being advertised as USB3 are these backward compatible?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Absolutely. Some of the cheaper examples aren't much faster than their older equivalents though.0 -
It's just good to see ya Richie, yer not in often enough these days...as as for getting too old, we can still show these youngsters a thing or two

USB 3.0 [Bi-Directional Data Transfers] claims a max of 4.8 Gbps, almost 10 times faster than USB 2.0. Win7 already has support built in for USB 3.0 but not all MOBO makers have it built in [blue plaggy bit on the USB socket] and then it gets complicated with the brand new SSD style [no cables straight to MOBO trace] quad & 8-channel sticks. More importantly who [till the price comes down by at least half] really needs the speed ?
What you need to REM as often stated in this group if you don't back your HD up and it goes down the clacker you've lost the lot, it is also the case if you lose a 64GB stick you've lost the lot .. .. maybe unless you need to carry around 10,000+ ten-megapixed images two 32's with one kept at home is a good idea.
- grizzly1911's question .. .. a USB stick of any flavor [USB2 or USB3] and format will work at the speed of the port its plugged into, so yes v2.0 and even on the old v1.1 port.
- GunJack lad - just passing through, like you its always nice to speak with old friends, your comments are appreciated - more beer - or maybe more .. .. the sharing of 'Newkie falling down water'Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
